1. INTRODUCTION & LOCAL-FIRST PHILOSOPHY

Welcome to Loudest Alarm, developed by ARI Software ("we", "us", or "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains our data practices regarding the Loudest Alarm mobile application.

Loudest Alarm operates under a Local-First Privacy Model. All of your alarm settings, wake-up schedules, challenge configurations, history statistics, sleep talk recordings, and custom audio preferences are stored locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or monetize any of your personal information.

2. INFORMATION COLLECTION AND USE

A. Personal Data

We do not collect personal identification information such as your name, email address, phone number, home address, or contacts. You can use Loudest Alarm without creating an account or providing any personal details.

B. Audio Recordings (Sleep-Talk Feature)

If you enable the optional Sleep-Talk recording feature, the app uses your device microphone to record audio during sleep windows.

- Local Storage: All audio files are saved exclusively in your device's local app storage.

- No Cloud Uploads: Audio recordings are never uploaded, transmitted, or shared with external servers, cloud databases, or third parties.

C. Camera & Images (Photo & QR Challenges)

If you configure QR Code Scan or Photo Mission wake-up challenges:

- The camera is used solely to scan your registered QR code or capture mission photos to dismiss active alarms.

- Images are processed locally on your device and are never transmitted externally.

D. Activity & Motion Data (Step & Shake Challenges)

If you use Step Counter or Shake challenges, the app reads device motion sensor data (Accelerometers and Physical Step Counter) to calculate step counts and shake intensities locally while the alarm is ringing.

3. ANDROID DEVICE PERMISSIONS & JUSTIFICATION

To ensure reliable wake-up operations, Loudest Alarm requests specific Android permissions. Each permission is used strictly for its declared function:

• POST_NOTIFICATIONS

  Displays active alarm notifications, heads-up ringing alerts, and bedtime reminders.

• USE_EXACT_ALARM / SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM

  Required to trigger alarms at the precise user-configured time on Android 12 and higher.

• USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT

  Displays the alarm ringing screen over your phone's lock screen when the device is locked.

• REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS

  Prevents the Android operating system from putting the alarm service to sleep during background operation.

• SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW

  Enables lock-screen overlay protection when Anti-Cheat mode is enabled by the user.

• RECORD_AUDIO

  Optional. Allows local sleep-talk audio recording. Audio files stay on local storage.

• CAMERA

  Optional. Allows scanning QR codes or taking photos to complete wake-up challenges.

• ACTIVITY_RECOGNITION

  Optional. Detects physical steps to satisfy step wake-up challenges.

• NFC

  Optional. Detects registered NFC tags to satisfy NFC wake-up challenges.

• READ_MEDIA_AUDIO / READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE

  Optional. Allows selecting custom ringtones or music files from your device storage.

4. DATA STORAGE, RETENTION, AND SECURITY

- Local Encryption: Data is stored locally using encrypted key-value stores (Hive & SharedPreferences).

- Data Erasure: You have total control over your data. You can erase all app data, alarm schedules, and local recordings instantly at any time by navigating to Settings > Factory Data Reset within the app, or by clearing app storage in Android System Settings.

5. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES & ANALYTICS

Loudest Alarm does not include third-party advertising SDKs, user tracking code, or data-broker analytics that monitor your behavior across other apps or websites.

6. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY (COPPA & FAMILIES POLICY)

Loudest Alarm is intended for a general audience (ages 13 and older). We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can verify and ensure no data exists.

7. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect app updates or regulatory changes. Any updates will be published with a revised "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy document.
